Varax-Products was one of the first to bring the Butterfly chair to the Finnish market in the late 1950’s. The idea for the product was born in America. Varax’s Butterfly chair is a true classic, the elegant design and modern lines still interest Nordic interior decorators to this day.

The making of summer memories begins in Ähtävä, Ostrobothnia, where yard and garden products are being shaped for Nordic homes and gardens.
Since its beginning Varax-Products has created warmth around them. In 1939, the Ähtävän Villa – predecessor of Oy Varax-Products Ab was founded. Over time, materials and products changed; the carding plant became a workshop, the wool was replaced with metal and wood – the place of yarn in the production was replaced by everyday products for homes and yards, as well as industrial solutions for metal companies.
Sustainable materials, Finnish know-how, responsible and ecological operations, and the creation of new trends and shapes with continuous product development have made Varax Finland’s leading manufacturer of leisure furniture.
Today, Varax-Products still strives to create warmth around it, and although the means to transmit it have changed, it is still a key value for the company.
